As a labor and delivery nurse, learning how to assist positioning in labor was always a top priority for me.
Long labors, overuse of Pitocin, and babies in tough birthing positions were just a few reasons I studied and developed my skills not just positioning, but in the release of the fascia surrounding tense ligaments and muscles around the uterus, sacrum and pelvis.
This special type of massage assists is smoother, faster labors, improved fetal position, improving pregnancy pain and postpartum recovery!
With a desire to assist you BEFORE you are in labor struggling, this 90 minute massage includes 30 minutes of foot soak, shoulder rub and discovery conversation. Essential oils, lighting and tranquil music, all to suite your personal taste is included to assist in relaxing the mind and soul and building trust.
Once comfortable, we follow with 60 minutes of slow, gentle yet intentional pressure and heat on the muscles and ligaments connecting not only uterus to the sacrum and pelvis, but from the head to ankles. Heat is from the warmth of my hands with no oil used. Movements are slow and gently, with tension points held until they melt away.
Using the instruction of Mayra Eddaifi and renowned PT Lynn Shulte, the focus is on the movement of the uterus, which should be able to freely move up, down, side to side and around. Space and movement allow for proper position of the baby and efficient contractions during labor.
Any scarring, tension or tightness around the uterus will affect how your body holds your belly during the end of pregnany, how your baby positions themselves before labor onset, and how easy they descend and travel through the birth canal (pelvis) before birth.
Sleep better, have less pain and improve your labor and birth!
